Hunger Network Food Rescue is a direct response to the disconnect between food waste and hunger.
Stone Oven Wholesale Bakery donates bread we can’t sell, for a variety of reasons, to Hunger Network. All this bread gets distributed to those who are hungry in Cleveland.
Here is what Shannon, a representative of Children’s Museum of Cleveland had to say: “We love the Stone Oven (Wholesale Bakery) donations!!!! We bag the bread and put it out for our guests, and it always goes right away. Guests are always excited and grateful for it. Staff enjoyed taking some home as well. Personally, I’m very grateful for it because my husband was laid off for a few months this winter and our grocery budget was really tight, so the bread was both a nice addition to our dinners but also breakfast for me and our kids and it helped us save money for other things we needed.”
