French Bread is characterized by a thin, crisp crust and slightly chewy center. At Stone Oven Wholesale Bakery, we make ours with a basic lean dough lightly enriched with olive oil, for a crust and crumb as traditional as anything served in France.

The soft texture of the crumb and thin crust of French bread make it an excellent alternative to ‘basic white bread’.

Our French bread is superb for sandwiches and makes a delicious toast.

What is a Pullman loaf? The name ‘Pullman’ was derived from its use in the compact kitchens of the Pullman railway cars. Although the Pullman Company is credited with inventing the lidded baking pans used to create the square loaves, square tin pans existed long before the railroad company.
